It seems that Australian women are just as excited at the thought of group sex as men are, and they initiate group sex it just as often.

According to a survey conducted by the nation’s second biggest online dating site, RedHotPie.com.au, almost 46% of female respondents claim to initiate the idea of group sex. The survey drew 8,763 responses from RedHotPie’s 1.5 million members.

The most common reasons listed for why women want group sex are:

1- Excitement
2- Variety
3- To spice up an otherwise dull relationship

More often than not, it is couples that engage in group sex and not singles, which I don’t think is terribly shocking. Otherwise, the group sex endeavor would be nothing more than a sausage factory.

40% of respondents, however, claim that they have only engaged in group sex once. Only 10% are indulging in group sex weekly or monthly. And the most common type of group sex? You guessed it – a threesome.
