Sex Q&A - Male pill & more

Too tired for sex

Dear Angie,

When we first met, my husband and I would have sex all the time, but now that we have kids and both work full-time, I’m just too exhausted to have sex and he’s starting to get very upset with me.

Isn’t he being irrational? We’re not kids anymore and sex is not the priority it used to be. It’s really starting to cause problems for us and I’m beginning to wonder if he married me just for the sex.

Please advise me on how to deal with this.

Gillian

Hi Gillian,

I hate to break it to you, but your husband is not being irrational… you are! While you may not be able to have sex like teenagers any time of the day, you definitely have to make time to make love.

Your husband didn’t marry you just for sex, but sex was part of the package that included love, attention, trust, and friendship. It’s not fair of you to cut him off from sex and then get angry when he confronts you about it.

Here’s what I recommend you do. Once a week or even every two weeks, set a date with your husband that includes dressing nice, having a formal date and engaging in some sensual time together.

If you want to make your marriage a happy one, a healthy sex life is part of the entire package and I strongly recommend that you make time for your husband.

Sincerely,
Angie

Male birth control pill

Dear Angie,

My friends and I got to talking about the male birth control pill and from what I hear, it’s actually coming to fruition. Is there any news on when men will be able to start taking the pill?

Jake

Hi Jake,

In May 2009, word spread that after some testing of 1,000 males in Beijing, scientists have developed a testosterone shot (taken orally, testosterone is not as effective and can be toxic to the liver) that men can take once a month to avoid pregnancy.

So scientists believe that men will be able to get this shot within the next few years. But then, keep in mind that they were saying that about 10 years ago. Stay tuned.

I think if you are passionate in life about love, then it shows in relationship. To act sexy is to be sexy, expressions of love are easy to sneak a kiss, a sensual touch, a smile, wink, complement a single flower. These are simple things done in front of children, even intimate moments a passionate kiss are good for children to see it is healthy. Public displays of love, hand holding, a kiss. Love is passion , life is passion, life of love and passion is a life fulfilled. I think men need to stop being worried about how things look to his chums. A woman needs to understand that love showed to children is important as children seeing love from parents, in love. To a child, if they worry about parents love for each other it is then a security issue. So to be sensual is a good health thing for children and necessary in a relationship. I grew up my parents not secretive of their love I heard it, saw it. I grew up with a respect for intimacy and necessity of that in a partners life. My parents were married for 53 yrs and died 17days from each other. One was one, two was one, they could not live with out each other. This is true I have all documentation I was married once she left because of a accident I was in. I was her fifth husband she my only wife. I loved her, my step children and my life I am sorry I lost that. Robroygreen
